Good writing

While we're at it, here's a little piece on good writing entitled, 46 Ways to Embarrass Yourself.

Part of what we are doing as teachers is getting our students ready for prime time, and learning to write well, or at least, not write poorly, is a large part of that.

  1. Great article! I just have to share an example. I was recently helping a student edit a letter of application to the UW school of communications. In this letter, he talked about his public speaking experience - except "public" was missing a letter (I'll let you guess which one). We both got a big laugh out of it, and it underscored the value of having someone else proofread your work! :)
